J.A.M. Taylor resigned his position with Canadian Fairbanks Morse in March 1918 and founded the company in Toronto, as a manufacturers’ agent for British and American tool companies. By 1941 the second generation had joined the business and expansion was needed. Taylor Tool purchased a factory located in Galt and began manufacturing taps for the growing Canadian industrial market and the war effort. Through continued growth and the addition of the third generation to the company, Taylor Tool decided to build a new facility in 1965. This remains our current location in Cambridge; and in 1981, we expanded once again to include the manufacture of round and hexagon threading dies.
In 1987, to better serve our growing customer base; Taylor Tool amalgamated the Head Office, warehouse and manufacturing facility under one roof in Cambridge. In the interim period we have expanded our tap, reamer and die capabilities as we continue to modernize our manufacturing plant.
We manufacture and stock a full range of special and standard Right and Left Hand Taps, Round and Hexagon Rethreading Dies in American, Metric, Pipe, Locknut and Acme sizes and special and standard reamers. We also import and stock Reamers to compliment our manufactured products.
One of our services includes “Bar Stock”; specials to blueprints and customer supplied specifications. The size of our operation enables us to provide fast deliveries for specials, with some specials from our stock. Over the years, our reputation for quality specials has expanded to include all of Canada, the U.S. and Europe with many of our products being exported world-wide by our distributors.
As we continue to grow, the fourth generation has joined the company to carry on the family tradition. Excellent product quality and overall customer satisfaction are the core components of Taylor Tools commitment to the global marketplace.
